The fact that you will be in charge of some patient’s health, your boss must feel at ease being able to leave things up to you and in your hands. Being able to give your word and acting upon it is also something that is very important.
Look at it this way, if you give your word to have something done and fail to do it then patients that were depending on you will not get the care that they need and this will end up affecting other workers at the health facility you’ll be working in. Thoroughness does fall under some of the qualities needed to become a certified nursing assistant and this does have some positive effects such as giving your patient a comfortable stay at the hospital and also preventing the spread of any disease through keeping proper hygiene. Being thorough is not something you should apply occasionally but all the time as most staff members will depend on this trait to ensure their patients are getting the best care possible.
Patience is an added quality that a nursing assistant should have. Not all patients will be nice and friendly in return as there are some who can really give you a hard time. But it is important that you remember that they are sick and probably don’t have the liberty to be nice. However your continuing to be nice to them even when they are grumpy will likely make them warm up to you eventually and they will appreciate it.
